Getting Started with Reorbit
Install, watch your store data sync, and set up your loyalty program, reviews and retention triggers. The first-run guide to Reorbit for Shopify.
Your first steps: install, let your store data sync, and set up your loyalty program, reviews and messages.
What happens when you install Reorbit
When you install Reorbit, it begins importing your store data and preparing each part of the platform — loyalty, reviews, and retention triggers. The Home page shows your setup progress the whole way through.
Step-by-step: get set up
1. Get your plan in place
On Home, if you don’t have an active plan yet you’ll see a card inviting you to choose one. Reorbit is free while we onboard founding merchants — no card, no trial clock, every feature included. Click through and approve on Shopify’s page to unlock the app. (The approval page opens at the top level of the browser — that’s expected.) (See Plan & billing.)
2. Watch your setup progress
On Home, the Finish setting up checklist shows how many of the four setup tasks are done:
| Task | What it’s doing |
|---|---|
| Store data synced | Importing your customers, orders, and products from Shopify. |
| Loyalty program ready | Preparing your points program. |
| Reviews imported | Pulling in your existing reviews. |
| Automated messages created | Creating your review and loyalty messages, ready to configure. |
Setup begins automatically; click Refresh to update the view. If a task fails, its card shows the error and a Retry setup button appears. Once every task is done the checklist disappears for good.
3. Build your program
Once setup completes, head to Settings to build out your program. Everything you configure lives there, grouped into Reviews, Loyalty and rewards, Customer messaging, and Account. A good order:
- Earn points — decide how customers earn points. (See Creating an Earn Rule.)
- Rewards — decide what points can be redeemed for. (See Creating a Reward Rule.)
- VIP tiers, Referrals, Automated messages, and Review moderation — layer these on as you grow.
If you’d rather copy a program that already works than assemble one from scratch, Program setups that work has five complete builds with real numbers.
4. Put Reorbit on your storefront
Your rules do nothing a shopper can see until the widgets are switched on in your theme — the loyalty launcher, and the review widgets on your product pages. It takes a couple of minutes in the theme editor, and it is the step most often missed. (See Adding Reorbit to your storefront.)
5. Turn on review requests
Your review request and reminder are created during setup, but they can’t send until you connect Klaviyo and build the flow that sends the email. This is the one part of Reorbit that needs work outside the app, so it’s worth doing early. (See How Review Requests Work.)
6. Manage day to day
The main navigation takes you to your daily work:
- Reviews — read, reply to, and moderate customer reviews.
- Products — see how each product is performing.
- Customers — look up customers, their points, and activity.
Home also shows Today’s work — the reviews waiting on you — plus shortcuts into your earn rules, rewards and tiers.
Tips and best practices
- Wait for Store data synced to finish before expecting points or reviews to appear — later steps depend on it.
- Start with a couple of earn rules and one reward — launch simple, then expand.
- Set the whole thing up before you launch it. Build the program, put the widgets live, and place a test order to watch points arrive, rather than discovering a gap once real customers are in it.
- Anchor your points economy before writing rules. Decide what a point is worth and price everything against it — changing the rate later means devaluing balances customers already hold.
FAQ
How long does setup take?
It runs automatically after install. Use the Refresh button on the setup checklist to see the latest status; larger stores take longer to sync.
A task failed — what do I do?
The task shows the error. Click Retry setup; if it persists, reach out to support with the message shown.
Do I have to pay anything?
No. Reorbit is free while we onboard our founding merchants — no card, no trial clock, and every feature included.
Setup says my automated messages are created — why hasn’t anyone been emailed?
Because the email is sent by Klaviyo, and that part is yours to set up: connect Klaviyo, then build the flow that sends it. (See How Review Requests Work.)
Where do I build my loyalty program?
Under Settings, which groups Earn points, Rewards, Referrals, VIP tiers, Automated messages, Review moderation, Integrations, and your plan.
I’ve made rules but nothing shows on my store.
The widgets have to be switched on in your theme separately. See Adding Reorbit to your storefront.
