Product Reviews in Reorbit — How It All Fits Together
How Reorbit collects, moderates and displays product reviews: the request that asks, the moderation that holds, and where reviews go beyond your storefront.
How a review gets from a delivered order to your product page — and what you control at each step.
The life of a review
| Stage | What happens | Where you control it |
|---|---|---|
| Ask | Reorbit picks who to ask once a night and mints a signed review link. Klaviyo sends the email. | How Review Requests Work |
| Collect | The customer follows the link and leaves a rating, text, and optionally photos or video. | — |
| Moderate | Lower-rated reviews can be held for a few days so you can reply first. Everything publishes on its own. | Moderating Reviews |
| Display | Published reviews appear in your storefront widgets and count toward your star rating. | Adding Reorbit to your storefront |
| Syndicate | Reviews can also be sent beyond your storefront — into Shopify itself, and to Google. | Shopify · Google |
Reviews publish themselves. Holding a review buys you time to respond — it is not a way to keep one off your storefront. The only way a review leaves your storefront and your star rating is if you remove it for one of the listed reasons, and “it was critical” is not one of them.
Two things that surprise people
Your star rating counts more reviews than you might expect. It includes reviews still held for your response, because an average that hides unfavourable reviews during a response window is exactly what the FTC’s consumer review rule prohibits (16 CFR §465.7).
Reviews can be pooled across products. If you sell one item as several products — one per colour, say — Review Groupings makes a review left on one appear on all of them, so every page shows the full weight of your social proof.
