Group related products so their reviews are pooled and shown together — perfect for variants of the same product that live on separate pages.
What is a Review Grouping?
A Review Grouping links two or more products so their reviews are combined and displayed across all of the grouped product pages. If you sell the same item as several separate products (for example, one product per color), grouping them means a review left on one appears on all of them — so every page shows the full weight of your social proof.
Before you start
- Identify the products that should share reviews (you’ll need at least two).
- These should be genuinely equivalent products — variants, colors, or sizes of the same item — so shared reviews make sense to shoppers.
Step-by-step: create a Review Grouping
1. Open the Review Groupings page
From the app, go to Configure → Review Groupings. If you have no groups yet, you’ll see an empty state with a Create your first group button.
2. Start a new group
Click Create Group (top-right), or Create your first group on the empty state.
3. Name the group
In the Group Details section, enter a descriptive Group name — e.g. “Summer Collection” or “Blue T-Shirt variants” — so you can identify it later.
4. Add products
In the Products section, use the product picker to search your Shopify catalog and add two or more products. Their reviews will be combined. (You’ll see a reminder if you’ve only added one — a group needs at least two.)
5. Save
Once the group has a name and at least two products, the Save bar lets you Save. Click it to create the group. You’ll return to the Review Groupings list, where the new group appears with its product count.
Managing existing groups
On the Review Groupings page, each group has a ⋯ (More actions) menu:
- Edit — change the name or add/remove products.
- Delete — removes the grouping (the products keep their own individual reviews; they’re just no longer shared).
Tips & best practices
- Only group true equivalents. Shoppers should feel the shared reviews are all about the same item.
- Name groups clearly so a teammate can tell at a glance what’s inside.
- Revisit groups when you add variants — add the new product to the existing group so it launches with reviews already showing.
FAQ
How many products can I add to a group? At least two; there’s no practical upper limit — add every variant that should share reviews.
Do the original reviews stay on each product? Yes. Grouping pools them for display; deleting a group simply stops the pooling.
Will a review left on one variant show on the others? Yes — that’s the point. Reviews are combined and shown across all product pages in the group.
